America’s Heroes at Work
A U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) project that focuses on the employment challenges of returning service members living with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and/or Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

 

Army Behavioral Health
When our Soldiers return home, most will experience a brief readjustment period and a successful home transition. Some will need short or long-term counseling to assist in their transition. Medical assistance from the Army and the VA is available to provide treatment and see them through to a healthy outcome.

 

Army Wounded Warrior Program
Taking care of wounded warriors is an important part of the Army’s mission. The Army Wounded Warrior Program (AW2) is the official U.S. Army program that assists and advocates for severely wounded, injured, and ill Soldiers and their Families, wherever they are located, for as long as it takes. AW2 provides individualized support to this unique population of Soldiers, who were injured or became ill during their service in the Global War on Terrorism.

The Department of Defense (DOD) provides employment opportunities for men and women who honorably served on behalf of our Nation. As the largest Federal employer of Veterans, we are committed to providing every Veteran who wants to serve our country as a DOD civil servant the opportunity to do so.

VA – Center for Minority Veterans
The Center for Minority Veterans is part of the Office of the Secretary. The Center assists eligible veterans in their efforts to receive benefits and services from VA. The Center acts only as a mediator and facilitator — As such the Center does not process claims, handle equal employment complaints, or employee relation problems. The Center is dedicated to ensuring that all veterans are aware of benefits, services, and programs offered by VA.

 

VA – Center for Women Veterans
In November 1994, Public Law 103-446 established the Center for Women Veterans in the Department of Veterans Affairs under the Office of the Secretary. The primary mission of the Center for Women Veterans is to review VA programs and services for women veterans, and assure that women veterans receive benefits and services on a par with male veterans encounter no discrimination in their attempt to access them, and are treated with the respect,
dignity, and understanding by VA service providers.

The National Resource Directory (NRD) is an online tool for wounded, ill and injured Service Members, Veterans, their families, and those who support them. Veterans’ Workforce Investment Program: United States Interagency Council on Homelessness
The Veterans’ Workforce Investment Programs provides funds to assist Veterans experiencing homelessness in gaining meaningful employment through client-centered case management.

Adaptive Adventures Military Operations
Leading the way in progressive adaptive sports, AAMO provides injured veterans and active duty military the opportunity to return to the level of fitness and activity that they had prior to being wounded. Our programs feature cutting edge adaptive equipment, experienced staff, volunteers, and coaches.

 

After Deployment
A mental wellness resource for Service Members, Veterans, and Military Families. Their mission is to assist you and the people close to you to manage your after-deployment concerns. We believe that working on solutions is a sign of strength, and the time you spend here a positive step in ensuring a smooth and healthy transition back to home life.

 

Air Compassion for Veterans
The mission and purpose of Air Compassion For Veterans is to ensure that no financially-stressed wounded warrior / veteran / active duty military person or their family member(s) is denied access to distant specialized medical evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, or rehabilitation for lack of a means of long-distance medical air transportation. ACV is committed to the ongoing healing process of our wounded warriors and will provide transport for activities that aid in the process as long as needed.

 

American Ex-Prisoners of War Organization
A not-for-profit, Congressionally-chartered, veterans’ service organization representing former prisoners of war and their families. Established April 14, 1942.

 

American GI Forum National Veterans Outreach Program
Our Mission is to establish and maintain a comprehensive community service agency with a diversified funding source that will serve the needs of veterans, their families, and other needy individuals of the community.

 

American Legion
The American Legion was chartered and incorporated by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness. It is the nation’s largest wartime veterans service organization, committed to mentoring youth and sponsorship of wholesome programs in our communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow servicemembers and veterans.

 

America’s VetDogs
Helping those who have served our country honorably to live with dignity and independence whether they are visually impaired or have other special needs, by using guide dogs, service dogs, and
innovative technologies.

 

AMVETS
For more than 60 years, we in AMVETS have taken to heart the credo of service set forth by our organization’s founding fathers. In so doing, we endeavor to provide our fellow veterans with the type of support they truly deserve.

 

Disabled American Veterans
The 1.2 million-member Disabled American Veterans (DAV) is a non-profit 501(c)(4) charity dedicated to building better lives for America’s disabled veterans and their families.

 

Honor Flight Network
Honor Flight Network is a non-profit organization created solely to honor America’s veterans for all their sacrifices. We transport our heroes to Washington, D.C. to visit and reflect at their memorials. Top priority is given to the senior veterans – World War II survivors, along with those other veterans who may be terminally ill.

Military Order of the Purple Heart
Chartered by Congress in 1958, The Military Order of the Purple Heart is composed of military men and women who received the Purple Heart Medal for wounds suffered in combat. Although our membership is restricted to the combat wounded, we support all veterans and their families with a myriad of nation-wide programs by Chapters and National Service Officers.

 

National Association of Black Veterans
We are a nationally certified Veterans Service Organization and a United States Department of Veterans Affairs claims representative for the purpose of benefits and discharge upgrade services.

 

Paralyzed Veterans of America
For more than 68 years, PVA has been on a mission to change lives and build brighter futures for our seriously injured heroes—to empower these brave men and women with what they need to achieve the things they fought for: freedom and independence.

 

PTSD Foundation of America
PTSD Foundation of America is a non-profit organization dedicated to mentoring to our combat veterans and their families with post traumatic stress. Many warriors are coming home with visible wounds; countless others are coming home with scars we cannot see, wounded souls from witnessing the horrors of war over and over again – PTSD. We feel it is our duty as Americans to help these mighty warriors and their families adjust and find their new normal.

 

Veterans of Foreign Wars
The VFW’s voice had been instrumental in establishing the Veterans Administration, creating a GI Bill for the 20th century, the development of the national cemetery system and the fight for compensation for Vietnam vets exposed to Agent Orange and for veterans diagnosed with Gulf War Syndrome. In 2008, VFW won a long-fought victory with the passing of a GI Bill for the 21st Century, giving expanded educational benefits to America’s active-duty service members, and members of the Guard and Reserves, fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan.

 

Vietnam Veterans of America
Founded in 1978, Vietnam Veterans of America is the only national Vietnam veterans organization congressionally chartered and exclusively dedicated to Vietnam-era veterans and their families. VVA is organized as a not-for-profit corporation and is tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(19) of the Internal Revenue Service Code
